DO Stamp with the Stars #398 Sketch inspiration

Hey everybody!  And welcome to another Stamping with the Stars Inspiration Hop!  First, I want to tell you that I had NOT planned on doing this month's sketch for several reasons.  First, we are in the process of having new floors put in our living room, dining room and foyer next week and a LOT of stuff got crammed into, of course, my Stampin’ Up! room!!!  Here is a picture of the room. (No judgement please!  I did NOT clear my crafts before dumping stuff in there!)

As you can see there is nowhere to move!  Plus, we decided to paint before the floors got put in, and then I get a stomach bug which knocked me out for two days.  AND, I leave tomorrow for OnStage with Stampin' Up! in Jacksonville (more about THAT later) Bottom line, I knew I would be pressed for time to get a blog finished much less find (rather ..get to) what I would need to MAKE a card.

Nevertheless, this morning as I was finding a cat YouTube video for my cat to watch (yep!) I see that Connie Stewart was going to have a video later today with a card that was very similar to this sketch, and I though, heck, I should be able to create a simple card even if it’s not created in the Stampin’ Up! room.  Soooo, to end this LONG story, here is the sketch and my interpretation of the sketch.

SKETCH

MY INTERPRETATION

This is a simple design with the poinsettia paper from the gorgeous Boughs of Holly designer series paper as the highlight of this card.  The Shaded Spruce mat and Cherry Cobber panel cardstock set against the Basic White Thick card base really makes all the colors of the poinsettias’ pop!

I used the Double Oval punch mimicking the mats on the card by punching a Basic White and Cherry Cobbler cardstock scallop and cutting them apart horizontally before adhering with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The sentiment from the Merriest Moments stamp set is stamped with Cherry Cobbler ink with a single Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewel and popped up using Stampin’ Dimensions.  Adding a touch of bling with Gold Shimmer Ribbon completes this simple design.

Measurements

Basic White Thick cardstock 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4", plus scrap for sentiment

Cherry Cobbler cardstock panel 5-1/2" x 3-3/4", plus scrap for oval scallop

Shaded Spruce cardstock mat 5-1/2" x 3-1/2", plus scrap for oval scallop

Boughs of Holly designer series paper 3-3/8" x 3-1/2" AND 3-3/8" x 2-7/8"

Hello Friends!

(The Framed Florets Photopolymer Stamp set and dies will be also be available in the upcoming Jan 2023 Mini Catalog..) I am so excited to share my inspiration card with you.)
The limited edition Designer Series Paper is the star of this card.  A Petal Pink Blending Pen was used to color in the berries which gave this gorgeous paper an even deeper demensions!  I got this idea from someone on Pinterest.  I would love to give credit to this person but couldn't refind the post.  I NEED to remember to "Pin"!  This DSP is so beautiful.
The pretty flowers were stamped, die cut, and colored using the Framed Floret stamps, dies and blending pens (Petal Pink, Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen and So Saffron.)  The oval frame was die cut using the fabulous die in this set using Petal Pink cardstock and attached using Stampin' dimensions. The sentiment, from the stamp set, was stamped in Evening Evergreen and fussy cut out.
The inside has a strip of petal pink cardstock below a strip of the DSP.   I just love to finish off the insides of cards. I added a bit of bling with the soft petal pink Elegant Faceted GEms.

The technique of this card is call "Book Binding.  Such a "fun" fun-fold!  Below are the measurements.

DO Stamping with the STARS 396

Welcome to another Stamping with the Stars Sketch Inspiration Hop!  One of my favorite activities with Stampin' Up! and Dawn Olchefske's team is doing the sketch inspired cards.   We are challenged to do inspired sketch cards once per month.  Here is this month's sketch.

And here is my inspired card.

Before stamping, I slightly adhered the back of a 1-7/8" x 4-5/8" AND 2-1/8" x 3-3/8" Shimmery White Cardstock on to a silicone craft sheet just to stabilize the cardstock.  I positioned the two pieces exactly how I expected them to be on the finished card.  I then used Sahara Sand Classic Stampin' Pad to stamp the largest of the Cottage Rose Cling Stamp Set.  I first stamped off and then stamped onto both pieces of the Shimmery White Cardstock making sure I overlapped on to both pieces. This just slightly showed the stamped image allowing me to follow the lines when adding color.

I then used Water Painters to color the flowers using beautiful Petal Pink, So Saffron, Sahara Sand, and Soft Sea Foam Classic Stampin' Pads.  By using a size D Clear Block that was inked up with the stamp pad, I was able to use the block as a pallet, adding a bit of water to give the watercoloring effect.

The inside panel as well as the sentiment on the outside were stamped with the lovely Inspired Thoughts Cling Stamp Set.

I added a bit of gold with the Simply Elegant Trim behind the sentiment and an Opal Rounds on the sentiment tag.
