July Watercoloring Challenge

Hello friends!

If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you know our team leader, Dawn Olchefske, offers her team members challenges each month.  This month’s challenge is all about water coloring.  I had planned on sharing the cards as I made them, but this month had a few challenges.  First, I had my wonderful children and grandchildren home from Florida, Texas, and North Carolina here in Savannah to celebrate my birthday.  Here is a picture of me and my sweet grands!

Next, you might remember my 94-year-old mother had back surgery and had been in rehab for the months of May and June.  After my birthday, she contracted Covid.  She is doing so much better and am thankful she had been vaccinated and boosted.

I got a bit behind on sharing these individually, so instead of me sending out 8 different blogs for this challenge I will only send this one with my 8 different water coloring cards.  I hope you enjoy this parade of fun and cool cards.

Let me know in the comments which one is your favorite. I'll tell you my favorite at the end.

Card #1  No Line Watercoloring

Card #2 Detail Watercoloring with watercolor pencils

Card #3 Watercolor wash

Card #4 Faux Watercoloring I

Card #5 Embossed Resist Watercoloring

Card #6 Embossing Folder Watercoloring

Card #7 Faux Watercoloring ll ink, stamp, spritz

Card #8 Faux Watercoloring lll ink, clear block, spritz

Did you decide which was your favorite?  My first favorite is #7 and second runner-up is #8.

Thanks for looking.  Be sure to sign up to automatically receive my blog to your email.  That way you will never miss a blog.

See you soon!

DO Stamping with the Stars #DOswts391 Christmas in July

MerrChristmaiJuly!!!

It's that time again for our 2nd monthly Inspiration Hop, and our inspiration for this challenge has all to do with the wonderful holiday that is only about 5 MONTHS AWAY!!  Who has been watching the Hallmark Christmas in July movies?  Come on, admit it!!! Here is my Christmas in July Inspiration:

I just love how Stampin' Up! color collections coordinate so well. And I especially love the 2021-2023 Soft Succulent In Color.  The Satin Shimmer Ribbon and the Texture Chic Designer Series Paper just looks so gorgeous together. The white mat just makes this card pop!

The Season of Chic bundle dies were used to cut the snowflakes in silver foil, vellum and Pool Party cardstock.  One of the snowflakes was embossed using silver embossing powder.  The center large iridescent foil snowflake is from the July-December mini-catalog called Wonderful Snowflakes.  There are 24 snowflakes in the package.  Of course, there must be bling!  I used Rhinestone Basic Jewels and just scattered them over the card.

For the sentiment tag I used this cool die from the Seasonal Label dies.  It comes with these little dies that can create the slots on the sides for the ribbon. I really like how this looks.  What do you think?

The sentiments on the outside and inside are from the Chrismas to Remember stamp set that coordinates with the label dies.

I always like to finish the inside of the cards.  I know this picture doesn't really show it as well, but the sentiment and the snowflake have been embossed using the silver embossing powder.

Measurements
Soft Succulent cardstock 11" x 4-1/4", scored at 5-1/2"        scrap for snowflakes
Basic White cardstock 5-3/8" x 4-1/8" (outside mat),   5-1/4" x 4" (for inside mat), scrap for sentiment
Pool Party cardstock scrap for snowflakes
Texture Chic Designer Series Paper 5" x 3-3/4"
Silver Foil scrap for snowflakes
Vellum scrap for snowflake

DO Stamping with the Stars #DOswts390 Inspiration Sketch

It's that time again for another Stamping with the Stars Inspiration Hop.  Each month my upline leader, Dawn Olchefske, challenges her team members to blog and/or post on Facebook our interpretation of a card sketch she gives us.  Here is the sketch for this month's sketch inspiration.

And, here is my card!

I fell in love with the Abigail Rose suite (found on page 56-57 in the annual catalog).  It reminds me so much of the retired Magnolia Lane, which has been my#1 favorite of all my stamp sets.  This suite comes with the stamp set, gorgeous designer series paper and a lovely natural finish ribbon.

The flower stamp is large and could be used alone, but I decided to add another leaf cluster on the right and the silver leaves tucked under the rose at the top and bottom.  The rose, leaves and baby's breath were all colored using the wonderful Stampin' Blends.  I like how using both the light and dark blends give it depth.  I added a bit of bling with the Elegant Faceted Gems on the top right side of the card.  These come in three colors, including Petal Pink, which matches how I colored the rose.

Another favorite bundle is the  Charming Sentiment bundle (found on page 38 in the annual catalog).  This set is a game changer!  There are so many different sentiment and the dies that actually die cuts around the sentiment.

Measurements

Basic White Thick cardstock: 8-1/2" x  5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4", plus about 3" x 4" for die cutting of rose, leaves and sentiment
Gray Granite cardstock: 2-1/4" x  5-3/8"
Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper: 5-1/4" x  2-1/8", plus 5-1/8 x 3/4" for inside
Silver Foil specialty paper:
