Stamping with the Stars #DOswts385 Mom or Dad Inspiration Hop

Hey everyone!  And, welcome to another DO Stamping with the Stars Inspiration Hop!  Today we are inspired by Moms and Dads.  This could include Mother's Day and Father's Day cards.  But, my mother's birthday is on May 5th, just 3 days BEFORE Mother's Day.  This year she will be 94 years old.  Before I show you my mother's Mother's Day/Birthday cards, here is a recent picture of her. 

 

Doesn't she look GREAT!  This was taken a few weeks ago when my sister came to Savannah for a visit from Tennesse and all 5 siblings met with her for lunch!  Good Times!  On to the cards!

I decided to make for this blog hop matching Birthday and Mother's Day cards.

Both of these layouts were inspired from Mary Fish from Stampin' Pretty.  What I liked BEST about these card is the fact that the Designers Series Paper (DSP) is the star of these cards.  Stampin' Up! has the most wonderful DSP and all the colors coordinate so beautifully with the cardstock. This DSP is from the Jan.- Jun. Mini Catalog called Flowering Fields. The tulips on this paper just make me happy.

Measurements for this card

Basic White card base:  5-1/2” x 8-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4”

Basic White cardstock panel 3-3/4” x 5”

Basic White cardstock panel 2-1/2” x 4-1/4”

Scrap strip for sentiment at least 2-3/4” x 1/2” 

HIghland Heather cardstock 4” x 5-1/4”

Flowering Fields DSP 3-3/4” x 2-3/4” (simpler pattern)

Flowering Fields DSP 2-1/4” x 4” (busier pattern)

The sentiment is from the Art Gallery Photopolymer Stamp Set, stamped with Highland Heather Stampin' pad and then die cut from the Floral Gallery Dies.

Measurements for this card

Basic White card base:  5-1/2” x 8-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4” THEN CUT OFF 2-1/2" of front right side.  This will be used for the horizontal panel.

Basic White cardstock inside panel 3-3/4” x 5”

Scrap of Basic White cardstock for sentiment 

HIghland Heather cardstock 4” x 5-1/4”

Flowering Fields DSP  4” x 2-3/4” (simpler pattern)

Flowering Fields DSP 2-1/4” x 4” (busier pattern)

The sentiment is from Dafodil Daydreams Cling Stamp Set, using Highland Heather Stampin' pad and cut out using paper snips.
