DO Stamping With the Stars #405 Rubberband Technique

Hello my friends and welcome to another Stamping with the Stars hop!  All of the stars (demonstrators) who are participating in this hop will be sharing a unique stamping method call rubberband stamping technique. And, to be honest, at first I was not sold on this style of stamping.  But, after a couple of attempts I ended up with this card.

The rubberband stamping technique is the white lines in the background.  To achieve this unique effect you take rubberbands and wrap them around an acrylic stamping block like the pictures below.  Then, the rubberbands become your stamp!  You can apply ink to the rubberbands and then stamp on to cardstock.
After I made a few cards (see below) I thought I would try inking the rubberbands with Versamark and then heat emboss with white embossing powder on to a Basic White Thick cardstock panel.  I then used a blending brush to apply Night of Navy ink.  After, I wiped off the ink from the white lines with a tissue to give the effect of the white lines in the background. This is call embossing resist.
I really liked how this turned out.  To me it has an Asian feel to it. I used the Heron Habitat Bundle to finish the card.
Here are a few other attempts with this fun stamping technique.
The card on the right I used smaller rubberbands and used two different ink colors- Sweet Sorbet and Starry Night.  I think it looks very partriotic!  It was my daughter's favorite of the four cards I made.
Here is another crd I made withthe rubberband-embossing resist using black embossing powder.
